American Red Cross of Mid-South

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Letter from Executive Director, Laura Vaughn – November 2016

laura-vaughnTis the season for giving! All you need to do is walk into a store to realize that the holiday shopping season is upon us.

As you are making your list and checking it twice this holiday season, I ask that you consider giving a gift that truly means something. Honor someone special on your list with a unique gift this season by making a donation to the American Red Cross in their honor. Better yet, you don’t have to walk into a single store!

Here are a few of the special gifts that you can purchase with your donation:

Blankets that bring warmth and security
In a disaster, children and families are often exposed to the elements. You can provide warm, cozy blankets to protect them from the cold and help them sleep comfortably in emergency shelters.
Sponsor blankets for:
25 people $125
5 people $25

Vaccinations save children’s lives around the world
Help vaccinate a child overseas and provide protection for life. Together with our Measles & Rubella Initiative partners, you can help educate families about the dangers of both measles and rubella, and provide the easy solution available to prevent the loss of an estimated 430 people every day, most of them children.
Sponsor vaccinations for:
100 children $100
50 children $50
25 children $25

Hot Meals provide comfort and strength during a disaster
While families impacted by disaster struggle to rebuild their lives, you’ll help provide hearty, comforting meals to give them energy for the challenging days ahead. Give a gift that supports our feeding trucks and shelter kitchens to make sure no child or family goes hungry when disaster strikes.
Sponsor hot meals for:
10 people $100
3 people $ 30
